[11/01/22] Public Notice: Environmental Review - Riverside Homes
Riverside Homes is a 75 unit renovation project of an existing public housing community that is located in Salisbury, Maryland. The site consists of 8 residential buildings that are either one or two stories and include 1 bedroom and efficiency units, each with one bathroom. The property also consists of a community building that has a community center, kitchen, and manager's offices. Riverside Homes includes forty-five 423-square foot efficiency units and thirty 546-square foot one-bedroom units. The buildings will receive new shingle roofs, energy efficiency rated windows, and all new finishes within the units will be upgraded. The community center will also undergo upgrades to all facilities within. The proposed project is to provide significant upgrades to the existing apartment complex including site improvements, including accessibility upgrades, replace roofing, replace windows, and other exterior finishes. The proposed project will provide a safer, more energy efficient living space for residents and also greatly increase accessibility to the units and property as a whole.
Remediation: Asbestos-containing materials to be disturbed as part of the renovations planned for the property will be properly removed by a Maryland-licensed asbestos abatement contractor prior to disturbance by construction activities. The lead in drinking water concentrations will be confirmed with site-specific testing. The apparent mold growth and moisture intrusion will be addressed during renovation activities.
