Clean Up Wicomico


Community groups and individuals can help to create a cleaner and healthier Wicomico County by volunteering to clean up litter and roadside debris.

Why participate?

  • There is no cost to you or your group. The County will provide clean-up materials, retrieve the trash from your clean-up project and cover the cost of dumping.

How it works:

  • Download the application form, complete and email to
  • Public Works will review your application. You will be contacted within five business days regarding project approval.
  • Members of your clean-up group should complete a volunteer waiver and release.
  • Submit completed waivers and pick up supplies (trash bags, pickers, safety vests, etc.) at Solid Waste.
  • Perform your clean-up on scheduled day. Leave trash bags on site for pick-up.
  • You are encouraged to take before-and-after photos of your clean-up site and email them to
  • Return unused trash bags, pickers and safety vests to Solid Waste.

Poultry Building Removal Program

Wicomico County is pleased to announce the start of the Clean Up Wicomico – Poultry Building Removal Program. This program will serve dual purposes through the removal of abandoned poultry buildings and assisting local farmers to reduce runoff by replacing an impervious area with pervious buffer areas.
