Complaint Procedure

State Board of Elections Administrative Complaint Procedure 
(COMAR 33.01.05) 

If you would like to file a formal complaint to the State Board of Elections, please follow the instructions on the State Board of Elections website: http://elections.maryland.gov/vote_act_2002/complaint.html

Purpose 
To provide a uniform, nondiscriminatory procedure for the resolution of any complaint: 

  1. Alleging a violation of any provision of III of the Help America Vote Act of 2002;
  2. Alleging a violation of any provision of the Election Law Article, Annotated Code of Maryland, relating to provisional ballots; or 
  3. Brought by an individual who feels aggrieved by an action of a local board regarding voter registration.
