Bill No. 2008-1 was an act to amend the 'Schedule of Fines' adopted by the County Council of Wicomico County pursuant to Chapter 179 of the Code of Wicomico County, entitled 'Parks, Recreational Facilities and Areas' Section 179-13, entitled 'Violations and Penalties' to increase the fines for violating provisions of Chapter 179.
Bill No. 2008-2 was an act to amend Chapter 225 of the Wicomico County Code, titled 'Zoning,' Part 6, 'Accessory and Principal Uses' Article XVIII, entitled 'Principal Uses,' Section 225-67, titled 'Table of Permitted Uses - designations' to expand the uses permitted by special exception in an LB-1 Light Business and Institutional District, to include self storage facilities.
The Annual Budget and Appropriation Bill of Wicomico County, Maryland to adopt the County Budget, consisting of the current expense budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, the Capital Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, the Governmental and Enterprise funds Budgets for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2009; and to appropriate funds for all expenditures for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009 as hereinafter indicated.
Bill No. 2008-4 was an act to authorize and empower Wicomico County, Maryland to borrow on the faith and credit of Wicomico County, Maryland an aggregate amount not exceeding Twenty Million Five Hundred Fifty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Forty-Eight Dollars ($20,553,548) .
Bill No. 2008-5 was an act to amend Chapter 133, titled 'Dogs and Other Animals', Section 133-2, titled 'Definitions,' Section 133-6, titled 'Potentially dangerous dog,' Section 133-7, titled 'Dangerous dog,' Section 133-8 , titled 'Dogs at large prohibited', Section 133-10, titled 'Impoundment and redemption provisions,' Section 133-11, titled 'A Confinement and destruction of certain animals,' Section 133-12, titled 'Nuisances,' Section 133-14, titled 'Liability,' Section 133-16, titled 'Poisoning prohibited; killing by owner,@ Section 133-17, titled Animal care and/or animal neglect,@ Section 133-18, titled Animal waste and other 'nuisances,' Section 133-19, titled 'Pet shop standards,' Section 133-20.1, titled 'Establishment of the Animal Appeal Board,' Section 133-20.2, titled 'Duties of the Animal Appeal Board,' Section 133-20.3, titled 'Procedures on appeal,' Section 133-20.4, titled 'Orders by the Animal Appeal Board,' and Section 133-23, titled 'Civil Penalty,' to clarify the definition of potentially dangerous dogs, dangerous dogs, nuisances, the care and treatment of dogs, and establish the Animal Appeal Board.
Bill No. 2008-6 was an act to amend Chapter 203, titled 'Taxation', Section 203-3, titled 'Interest' and Section 203-5, titled 'Penalty' to increase the interest rate from 1.0% to 1.5% on delinquent real property tax payments after January 1st and to eliminate the penalty of .5% imposed on such delinquent taxes that remain due and payable after January 1st.
Bill No. 2008-7 was an act to amend Chapter 47, titled 'Library System', Section 47-5, titled 'Membership' to extend the membership term for the Board of Library Trustees.
