

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION
The Criminal Investigations Division continues to address the violent crime in Wicomico County. The Division, jointly, investigated major cases with the Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Maryland State Police, Delaware State Police, and additional municipal police forces. The Criminal Investigation Division continues to track repeat criminal offenders, and sex offenders living in the county.

The Criminal Investigations Division consists of five detectives, one narcotics detective and two secretaries. The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for Investigating and the processing of evidence at serious crime scenes.
In 2005, there were 1,014 Part One* criminal offenses reported to the Sheriff's Office. This is a 8.8% decrease over the prior year. The following list shows the types and numbers of cases handled by the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.
