• Fences
are allowed by the Wicomico County Zoning Chapter; we do not enforce private
deed restrictions or covenants.
• Fences
are limited in height to eight (8)
feet (additional height requires approval by the Board of Zoning Appeals).
• Fences
may be placed on side and rear property lines -
no setbacks required (we suggest a one (1)
foot setback for maintenance purposes).
• Fences
must be setback five (5) feet from
the property line adjacent to any street.
• Fences
may not be higher than 2½ feet when
placed on a corner lot at the intersection of two (2) streets; this area is a triangle formed by measuring back from
the intersecting point of the two (2)
streets for a distance of twenty five (25)
feet and then connecting these two (2)
points at their base.
• Violations
of these fence requirements are enforced by the Wicomico County Department of
Planning & Zoning at 410-548-4860.
