The Enhanced 911 System was established for the assignment of Road Names and Numbering of property in Wicomico County, Maryland, in order to provide automatic location identification for enhanced 911 services and to provide a more efficient system for the delivery of mail and goods, and other public and private purposes.  When applying for a building permit, applicant shall submit a site plan showing the location of the proposed structure and driveway or entrance to the property.  The Department will then assign an address to the property, and notify the applicant after receiving the application for a building permit.

Wicomico County residents are urged to report changes with regard to occupancy, telephone numbers, change in the outward appearance of a dwelling, such as color and style, or change of access to a dwelling.  Other information important to emergency responders such as medical, storage of hazardous materials, etc., is also kept on file.  The information provided is considered confidential, and only authorized 911 personnel will have access to it.  Emergency information forms are available upon request.

Your thoughtful cooperation will help to provide the best emergency response possible.
