There are twenty-four Local Management Boards in Maryland responsible for strengthening families and the community through planning, collaboration, and coordination of program funding and public awareness. Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children was established by the Wicomico County Council in January 1997. In April 1999, the Wicomico County Council named Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children the Delinquency Prevention Policy Board for the County. Delinquency Prevention Policy Boards assess existing and proposed delinquency programs for outcomes and to avoid duplication. The regular meeting of the Local Management Board is held on the third Thursday of each month from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. To get location and agenda information, call 410-546-5400.
Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children, the Local Management Board for Wicomico County, is recruiting for board members to fill open positions.
Members are expected to have a demonstrated interest in family and children’s issues, become advocates for children and family issues, represent Wicomico Partnership at a variety of functions, and participate in monthly board meetings.
Current board members include Wicomico County citizens, and representatives of juvenile justice, social services, law enforcement, Wicomico County Council and agencies providing services to children.
Interested candidates can pick up board member job descriptions and applications at the Wicomico Partnership office at 540 Riverside Drive, Suite 13, Salisbury MD or via our website: www.wicomicocounty.org/partnership/partnership.htm
All applications are due May 1, 2006 to the Wicomico Partnership office at P.O. Box 870, 540 Riverside Drive, Unit #13, Salisbury MD 21803
