MARYLAND’S PROGRAM OPEN SPACE GREENLIGHTS OVER

$500,000 IN IMPROVEMENTS FOR WICOMICO COUNTY

Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., announced today that Maryland’s Program Open Space has given the approval for reimbursement on nine improvement projects in Wicomico County valued at a total of $505,500.

 

Mr. Pollitt said that “All of these projects involve improvements to public outdoor recreation facilities and with County funds being restricted; I am delighted that we could still make these upgrades. We are indebted to Maryland’s Program Open Space and its Director, James W. Price.”

 

The improvements will be done at the following locations:

Centennial Village – Playground

Gene Lowe Park – Basketball Court

Kilburnie - Playground  

Billy Gene Jackson Park – Tennis Courts and Parking Lots

Wicomico Youth & Civic Center – Gazebo Construction

Leonard’s Mill Pond – Playground

Schumaker Park – Greenways Project

Winterplace Park – Electrical Upgrades

Cedar Hill Park Annex – General Upgrade
