John T. Cannon, age 53, was elected in November 2006 to his first term of office and was elected as President. He ran at large. He was born in Salisbury, Maryland and graduated from James M. Bennett High School and then went on to achieve his Bachelor’s Degree from Salisbury University. He served twenty years in the television industry working at WMDT and WBOC. Currently he is working in commercial and residential property management. He is a past member of the Kidney Foundation as well as the Epilepsy Association of the Eastern Shore. Mr. Cannon also coached Minor League and Little League Baseball at the Salvation Army and for the Optimist. He is a Past President of the Salisbury Jaycees and a past member of the Governors Executive Advisory Committee. Mr. Cannon is also a past member of the Wicomico County Republican Central Committee and a Past President of Nutters Crossing Homeowners Association.
