The commission is an advisory body on planning, zoning, and development issues, including rezoning, subdivision, and site plan review.
Salisbury and Wicomico County have established legally separate Planning Commissions, but use the same seven people to serve as members. Each jurisdiction has three appointments, with the seventh member selected jointly.

These meetings are open to the public.
The Salisbury-Wicomico County Planning and Zoning Commission meetings occur in Room 301 (Council Chambers) of the Government Office Building located at 125 N. Division Street in Salisbury, Maryland.
Third Thursday of each month.
