Public Information Officer

The Public Information Officer (PIO) functions as the public relations arm of the County and is responsible for working with the media, scheduling interviews with the County Executive and all County employees, distributing press releases, coordinating press conferences and providing vital information to the public during emergencies.

The goal is to keep residents up-to-date on news and current events occurring within County government and to assist with Public Information Act requests to inspect or receive copies of public records.

The PIO also works with the Department of Information Technology for, the county's official website, and oversees the County Executive's official social media accounts.This website enables members of the news media, as well as individuals, to obtain the latest press releases and media advisories.
